YIMBY (Yes In My Back Yard) chapters have formed in cities across the U.S to educate and advocate for local, state, and national policy changes to address the nationwide shortage of affordable housing. This includes:
City code updates that allow for development of dense and walkable neighborhoods and multifamily housing
State and federal tax incentives to encourage construction of more workforce housing in growing urban and suburban areas
State and federal programs that provide funding for housing security and construction of public housing
YIMBY Action supports an “All-of-the-Above” strategy for more housing, which includes private development of market-rate housing and government policies and programs dedicated to subsidy and construction of affordable housing.
